It was announced that Senator Bernie Sanders will being taking a hiatus from campaigning due to health issues. The senator was treated for a blocked artery after experiencing chest discomfort earlier this week.
Sander’s Senior Advisor Jeff Weaver, confirmed that two stents were inserted after a medical evaluation. The senator is said to be in good spirits.
As per Weaver, “Senator Sanders is conversing and in good spirits. He will be resting up over the next few days. We are canceling his events and appearances until further notice, and we will continue to provide appropriate updates.”
The entire campaign staff was informed during a conference call with Weaver this morning.
Sanders is one of oldest senators running in the Democratic Primary. Prior to falling ill on Tuesday, the senator attended a series of back to back events. Sanders is known to hold high energy events that initiates the enthusiasm of the crowd.
