  • Shingeki no Kyojin

This one has to be our first because its release has everyone losing their minds! If you have been following the show, you know it is bringing some huge twists to the table. This epic saga continues as The Survey Corps trek through the forest under the darkness of a new moon, planning to retake the Shinganshina District in order to reach Eren’s basement.

To say that Shingeki no Kyojin is a good anime would be an understatement. This saga has delivered great season after season and its success is clear. You do not have to be an anime fan to enjoy this series, the plot and development of the characters it’s enough to tangle anyone into watching into the end. Which is why we have recommended it on several occasions, if you’re new to it, you may want to check this post and see what the fuzz is about. And if you already are watching it, let us know what you think of the season so far!

Now this one I hold very close to my heart because it is a remake of a show I watched years ago. If you are like me and love a good shoujo anime, you already know Fruits Basket as it is a classic who happens to be just as good as Ouran Host Club.

Our story follows Tooru Honda who has always been fascinated by the Chinese Zodiac. When a tragedy hits her life and forces her to live in a tent, she soon discovers that the place where she is camping is actually the property of the Sonda family. And as she gets to know them she discovers one unexpected thing: The Sondas are cursed! And whenever they hug someone of the opposite sex, they turn into one animal of the Chinese Zodiac. This story is filled with laughter, romance and some tear-jerking moments that you don’t wanna miss!

This is another one we’ve mentioned many times before but we just can’t get enough of it! If you haven’t already started on this show, we cannot stress enough how much you should! This second season starts with a season one recap and then picks up as we see Saitama and Genos returning from the grocery store when they see King, S Class Hero Rank 7 and from there we get usual crazy and action-filled stories we get in the show.

What makes One Punch Man so good is that it doesn’t shy away from making fun of itself and the more common anime stereotypes that are portrayed. It also manages to keep a constantly interesting plot that engages the audience without feeling like too much. If you’re in for a good time, One Punch Man is the anime you should check out.

  • Carole & Tuesday

This anime is surely different from our previous recommendations. Honestly, I’m so hyped for this one. Carole & Tuesday is the story of two girls trying to make music, the twist? This is all set in a futuristic society that lives in Mars and most culture is Ai, a culture where people are just happy to be passive consumers.

I won’t give away much on the story to avoid spoilers but what drew me to watch this one is how diverse it is with its characters. It is not a secret that you won’t easily find people of color in animes but this story actually offers a diverse set of characters that very much mimic the society we live in today. The animation is beautiful and the music even more. This anime is a masterpiece in the making.

This one is also kind of an underdog but it is worth mentioning! Demon Slayer or Kimetsu no Yaiba follows the story of Tanjiro Kamado who is a kindhearted boy that works selling charcoal but that changes when his family is slaughtered by a demon. The only survivors being him and his sister who is now turned into a demon but still shows human emotions. The story then goes on as Tanjiro initiates his quest to make his sister human again and avenge his family.

What caught my attention about this one release is its animation studio: Ufotable. The same studio behind Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works (one of my favorite anime movies ever!) and of course Fate/Zero which is another epic anime. So that being said, we can have high expectations in regards to the animation of this one, just one look at its trailer and you’ll be hooked.

Well there you have them, five animes of very different genres to enjoy! If you have already watched one of them, let me know. And if there’s any other you’d like to recommend, leave it in the comment! We love to see what you like!
