We all have days where life feels a little heavy and existing feels exhausting. Some of us have those days more often than others. Or maybe you’re so busy you forget to take time for yourself away from all the work and social thing. Well i’m here to offer some tips that I like to follow when it feels things start feeling a little hectic.
1. Take a Bubble Bath
Nothing feels more relaxing than lighting some candles and taking a warm ass bubble bath. I personally enjoy using Dr.Teal’s Soothe & Sleep Lavender Foam Bath. It smells amazing and it also has Epsom Salt which is great for muscle aches and stress relief. You can buy it for $5.99 at Target.
2. Listen to Music
Music is my go-to for everything. I listen to music as much as I breathe air. The great thing about music today is that it’s literally available everywhere! Whether you’re on Soundcloud, Tidal, Apple Music, Spotify, Pandora, etc. there are tons of options and there’s literally a playlist for almost every mood.
3. Set Affirmations for Yourself
Reassurance is definitely needed every now and then. Over the years I learned that the best reassurance comes from yourself. You have to be your number 1 supporter, so set a few affirmations for yourself. Whether you write them on sticky notes and stick them all around your house, or whether you set a reminder on your phone for a certain time everyday. Get it done! Uplifting yourself is a small gesture but it makes all of the difference.
4. Do Some Weekly Reflecting
One of my favorite things to do is writing in my journal. I try my best to self reflect once a week. I go over the daily journal entries i wrote and look back at what happened and reflect on how things made me feel, why I felt the way I felt, what I can do to change and more. It’s a really beneficial way to help yourself heal and even grow as person. You can also go on Pinterest for some journal entry prompts.
5. Disconnect & Recharge
Lastly, one of the main things I enjoy doing is disconnecting from the outside world and taking time to myself to recharge. Deactivate your social media if you have to. Stay off your phone. If none of the other 4 options sound like something up your ally, try this one and find something to do that you enjoy. You’ll keep yourself occupied and you might even learn a new thing or two about yourself while you’re recharging.
