So, we’re already in March and 2019 has sure kicked in. The Dragon Ball Super movie has already premiered and gave us the long-awaited chance to see Broly in a cannon setting but, there is a lot more to come this year! We’ve got some new seasons, movies and remakes to expect this year! Let’s check them out.
One punch man! Season 2
That is right, One Punch Man is back and better than ever. Honestly, who didn’t miss the adventures of our heroes? To recap, this story follows Saitama, who through a very strict training managed to become so strong that he is able to beat everyone with, well, only one punch and his pupil, a cyborg named Genos who is on a quest to avenge his family.
The series is back on April with its second season and fans can’t wait. Since the manga debut in 2009, this series has been nothing but a hit! This second season is sure to be another success.
Attack on Titan Season 3 Part 2
Finally, the long-awaited conclusion for season 3 of this action-packed anime is back! Attack on Titan has become a classic ever since its premiere and it is totally understandable, one look at this series is sure to leave you hanging. The story is set in an alternative world where people live inside of giant walls in order to protect themselves from the Titans, which are enormous creatures who eat humans and have actually led humanity to live doomed and isolated with no opportunity of evolving.
This story focuses mostly on Eren Jaeger, his adopted sister Mikasa Ackerman and his best friend, Armin Arlet as the three of them join the Survey Corps, a team of the military who solely focuses on protecting the walls from the Titans and are often facing them.
Explaining Attack on Titan is not easy but following the series is actually harder! Just like Game of Thrones, this one is made to keep you on the edge of your seat with chapters filled with action and a whole lot of plot twists to be discovered! Fans sure are ready to think some of some new theories regarding what is going to happen and most importantly, why is it going to happen.
Fruits Basket Remake
YES! This one has me honestly so excited! Back in December of 2018, it was announced that a remake of the 2001 anime, Fruits Basket, was going to be released on April. Now, I can tell you I remember this anime with so much joy and I’m really happy that we get a remake that will adapt the manga fully!
So, this series follows Tohru, a high-school student whose mother recently died and due to a series of issues, ends up with no place to live. Luckily for her, she is able to find a job (and residence!) as a housekeeper with the Soma family and it’s when she accidentally bumps into one of them that she realizes that they share one very interesting curse: Each sibling turns into one animal of the Chinese Zodiac whenever they’re angry, embarrassed or hugged by the opposite gender! How will Tohru deal with this chaotic family? And will she able to do anything to break the curse?
Psycho-Pass: Sinners of the system
And last but not least, we have Psycho-Pass. This series was released in 2012 and was written by Gen Urobuchi. That’s right, the same guy who wrote Madoka Magica and Fate/Zero, the Urobutcher. So yes, this series will give plenty of existential crisis! The story is set in a futuristic world where people have their mental state constantly tested by the Sybil System, which can predict the likelihood of someone committing a crime. The story follows the Inspectors and Enforcers of Unit one of the Public Safety Bureau’s Criminal Investigation Division.
The Sinners of the system Project is composed of a total of three movies following the events occurred on the second season of the anime, the first two movies Case 1 and Case 2 were released in January and February respectively, and the last one Case 3: Onshuu no Kanata is set to premiere on March 8. So if you enjoy a good thriller that makes you truly reconsider everything, you might one to check this one out!
So, thriller, comedy, action and or sci-fi! 2019 has got it all! Which one will you be watching? There is something for everyone to pick and we’re so excited to check them.
