Finally, Google unveiled Stadia the much-anticipated cloud gaming platform that allows users to stream games to any device. Sundar Pichai Google’s CEO introduced the product during the Gamers Development Conference on March 18th where he talked about how the company has over the years been experimenting with game streaming technology.

This inaugural game streaming platform doesn’t require you to have an expensive console or PC. Instead, it uses a Google data center to stream incredibly sophisticated high-end graphically rich games to any screen in your home. Since Stadia is delivered via the cloud gamers, have instant access without the need for a download, patch or install. According to Google, you can boot the game of your choice in five seconds.

Google says when Stadia becomes available it will stream games with HDR and surround sound up to 4K and 60 frames per second. In the future, its capabilities will be upgraded to support 8K streaming.

What Games Will Be Available on Stadia?

Google announced the launch of its own studio headed by the company’s vice president Jade Raymond. This facility will be responsible for creating games for the new platform. Though they didn’t specify what kind of games will be available, they did mention Doom Eternal and showcased Tomb Raider and NBA 2K19 during the presentation.

How Do You Stream Stadia?

Google has not availed details of the kind of internet connection that you will require to stream Stadia. However, for Stadia to work seamlessly; you will need a good internet connection for instant access.

With a stable internet connection, you will be able to access Stadia on multiple devices. Desktop, laptop, TV, tablet, smartphone, that is any device with a screen. You will have the ability to switch between different devices. So in case, you pause a game on your laptop you will be able to continue with the same game on your smartphone.

What Controllers Work With Stadia?

Apart from the use of a keyboard and mouse Stadia will support several Bluetooth controllers including those from Sony and Microsoft.

Google will also be launching its own controller that will enable deeper integration with Stadia. The layout will be pretty standard, however with an extra button for Google Assistant in case you need help during a game. The other button will allow users to share content on YouTube. The controller can also connect to Stadia via Wi-Fi for great gaming performance.

Stadia Integration with YouTube

There over 200 million people watching game-related content on YouTube daily. Stadia will make many of those games playable on your device at the touch of a button. Stadia is also designed to bring together YouTube content creators and their audiences. A new feature called Crowd Play enables creators to invite fans, audiences, and subscribers to join them in a game.

Stadia is being touted as the future of gaming and expected to revolutionize the experience for both gamers and developers.
